The Quill Pen is the overworld version of the Winglade. As with all of Kris's weapons, the Winglade becomes a different item in the overworld.

Trivia

• Its name is a portmanteau of "wing" and "blade".
• This item shares a name with Winglade (character), suggesting that the Winglade Kris wields is a fossilized statue of that enemy. However, this is contradicted by the fact that the Winglade does not come to life like the Organikks in the Second Sanctuary, as well as discrepancies between the item description and the sprite of the enemy.
