This is a page containing many tracks not present in Deltarune or its Chapter 1 or Chapter 2 soundtrack.

Within the game files[]

thrash_rating[]

The filename of this track implies that it would have been used in the Thrashing Room.

cyber_battle[]

This track goes unused in-game, and sounds like an early version of Cyber Battle (Solo). This may have been the first arrangement of the song before it was arranged by Lena Raine.

Noelle (unused)[]

This track, named noelle.ogg in the game files, seems to be an early version of Girl Next Door, one of Noelle's themes.

WELCOME TO THE CITY (cybercity_old)[]

An early version of WELCOME TO THE CITY, which Toby Fox posted on Twitter 2 years prior.[1] This version is in 160 BPM, while the used one (cybercity.ogg) is in 152 BPM.

static_placeholder[]

Static noises. Most likely just a placeholder. The noise produced by the TV in the ending is titled tv_noise.ogg instead.

audio_menu[]

This appears to be an early version of Faint Courage, the Chapter 2 game over music. Judging by its filename, it was likely intended to be used for the Chapter 2 menu screen music before being replaced with Faint Glow. It was only included in the Mac 1.00 version. Interestingly, despite having a "AUDIO_" prefix, the filename is actually in lowercase, like every other music file in Mac builds.

spamton_house[]

This track, named spamton_house.ogg in the game files, appears to be a variant of Digital Roots that is sped up and has the wind-like ambience removed. The filename implies this track was meant to play in the room outside Spamton's shop, but most likely went unused as that room's small size meant only a few seconds of the track would be heard.

Outside the game files[]

Lost Girl (alternate)[]

Of course, that's not the only version of that song. Lots and lots of things happen. I just hope you can be friends with everyone someday.

Toby Fox, Twitter

This track was posted with Lost Girl and WELCOME TO THE CITY (cybercity_old) on Twitter for the 4th anniversary of Undertale.[2] It is part of a longer alternative version of Lost Girl featuring an additional string section and piano section.

School (alternate)[]

I actually really like this arrangement. The only reason I didn't use it was that I was worried about overusing the main theme too much. Instead I decided to make a song based off of the town theme and use it for the school.
...What do you think?

Toby Fox, Undertale 6th anniversary stream

This track was presented on the Undertale 6th anniversary stream as the first scrapped Deltarune track. It was scrapped because Toby Fox did not want to overuse the main theme.

Checkerboard[]

Originally played in the Great Board area.
However, the area isn't very long, so I felt like if I played a song here, it would actually have the opposite effect of making the area feel disappointing if it had its own unique music but didn't amount to much.
When I have a song, I feel like I need to do the song justice by having a certain amount of content that goes along with it...

Toby Fox, Undertale 6th anniversary stream

This track was presented on the Undertale 6th anniversary stream as the second scrapped Deltarune track. It would have played on the Great Board, but it was scrapped because the area itself isn't very long.

Epic Rouxls Battle/Rouxls Battle (Old)[]

I started to come up with an epic song for when you first battled Rouxls.
After starting the song though, I realized... He's not very epic at all.
Feels like if he had a song like this, you'd actually be able to defeat him in one hit.
So, I didn't do anything with this one.

Toby Fox, Undertale 6th anniversary stream

I actually showed this one before. But the truth is that I had made it for Chapter 2 and not Chapter 1.
The song was way too serious though, so I had to make a goofier battle theme later.

Toby Fox, Autumn 2024 newsletter

This track was first presented on the Undertale 6th anniversary stream as the third scrapped Deltarune track, then included again in the Autumn 2024 newsletter. Although Toby originally stated it would have played for a battle with Rouxls Kaard for Chapter 1, it was actually made for his battle in Chapter 2. It was scrapped as unfitting and too serious, as Toby Fox realized Rouxls Kaard is not an epic character at all.

Character Joined (Long)[]

Originally played when Susie joined.
But it was awkward being frozen for ten seconds.

Toby Fox, Undertale 6th anniversary stream

This track was presented on the Undertale 6th anniversary stream as the fourth scrapped Deltarune track. It would have played when Susie joined the party, but it was scrapped for being too long.

King Boss (Orchestral)[]

I only had the idea for the intro of the song, but it didn't feel like it fit too well.
So I only made forty seconds of it.

Toby Fox, Undertale 6th anniversary stream

This track was presented on the Undertale 6th anniversary stream as the fifth scrapped Deltarune track. It was scrapped as unfitting, and only the first 40 seconds of it were made.

Legend (Alternate)[]

I made like three different versions of the song.
This version was pretty good too, but the intro has the wrong atmosphere.

Toby Fox, Undertale 6th anniversary stream

This track was presented on the Undertale 6th anniversary stream as the sixth scrapped Deltarune track. It was scrapped as the intro had the wrong atmosphere.

Fountain (unused)[]

I actually really like this song and wanted to use it to introduce a leitmotif, but I ended up using a more evocative song with a different motif. I'll try to make an excuse to use this song in the game somewhere.

Toby Fox, Undertale 6th anniversary stream

This track was presented on the Undertale 6th anniversary stream as the seventh scrapped Deltarune track. It was scrapped, but Toby Fox has expressed interest in getting this song used somewhere in the game.

Game Main Theme (Piano Sketch)[]

The arrangement is really early, but I created this thinking of an animated intro for the game, similar to Wild Arms. I still see it in my head when I listen to the song.
The best part would have been at the end when everyone is running up the staircase as the silhouettes of the bosses from all the chapters show up, and the Knight, standing in a white door at the top of the stairs, turns around and looks down at them...

Toby Fox, Undertale 6th anniversary stream

This track was presented on the Undertale 6th anniversary stream as the eighth scrapped Deltarune track. It was scrapped for unspecified reasons.

Berdly (Rejected Concept)[]

This track, released with Bandcamp, Spotify, Deezer and iTunes versions of the OST, seems to be the early version of Berdly, one of Berdly's themes.

printer_noise[]

Printor was not used, but his sprite and dialogue were created, as well as a printer-based song that he could play? I just thought… there's too many NPC's already.

Toby Fox, Undertale/Deltarune Newsletter Autumn 2024

An unused five second track, included in the Autumn 2024 newsletter. It was planned to be used for a scrapped printer-themed NPC known as Printor. It is also noted that Printor's sprite and dialogue were already created before being removed entirely from the full release of Chapter 2.

Power of NEO (Unfinished)[]

After creating UNDERTALE, one of my goals for DELTARUNE was for players to finally be able to challenge a "real" version of Mettaton NEO that didn't just end in one turn. For that purpose, I actually created a few music mockups for an extended version of Power of NEO.

Toby Fox, Undertale/Deltarune Newsletter Autumn 2024

An unfinished extended version of Power of "NEO" from Undertale, included in the Autumn 2024 newsletter. This track was one of the many mockups created for the purpose of giving players an actual challenge against a "real" version of Mettaton NEO that didn't go down in one turn.

This never came to light as Toby could never create a full-length version he was satisfied with, alongside the boss concept and music eventually changing to involve Spamton.

Power of Spamton[]

Unfinished tracks. The drums are especially placeholder.
Once Spamton's presence in the NEO battle became solidified, I realized the original track wouldn't fit anymore. So, I tried to work in some more sinister and creepy feelings... That idea became this.
The two tracks are nearly identical, but the "newer" version has different drums and more elements of Spamton's theme in the intro. (It's also even more unfinished...)

Toby Fox, Undertale/Deltarune Newsletter Autumn 2024

These unfinished tracks were originally planned for Spamton NEO, included in the Autumn 2024 newsletter. They were scrapped due to Toby realizing that they wouldn't fit with Spamton's presence being solidified during the NEO battle.

Spamton Battle (Forgotten)[]

Apparently this was the first concept I came up with for Spamton's battle theme. To be honest, I have absolutely no memory of this. When I found it in my files I was quite surprised. (Maybe Spamton made it himself...)
By the way, originally I was planning to have Spamton's intro song, "HEY EVERY  !", also be his shop theme. It was planned that it would slowly drop in pitch the longer you stayed in the shop until it was unrecognizable. But, that ultimately did not match the tone of the dialogue, so I ended up using Dialtone for that.

Toby Fox, Undertale/Deltarune Newsletter Autumn 2024

An unused track, which served as Toby's first concept for Spamton's battle theme, as revealed in the Autumn 2024 newsletter. Toby mentions he has no memory of creating this track, and that Spamton's intro song was intended to be his shop theme until it was replaced with Dialtone.

Giga Queen (Old)[]

The song that plays when Giga Queen first appears is actually…
A slowed down version of the original battle song I had created for her!!!
Though the instruments are placeholder, I actually think this song isn't half bad. Just, it didn't really sound much like a boxing match. After I created the Thrash Machine power up sequence beforehand, I decided to instead make a song based on that.

Toby Fox, Undertale/Deltarune Newsletter Autumn 2024

The original version of Giga Size, included in the Autumn 2024 newsletter. The actual in-game version that plays when Queen pilots her Giga Queen robot is a slowed down version of the original track.

Castle Town (Unfinished)[]

Originally I wanted the Castle Town to sound very upbeat, but something about it reminded me of like… That one Gotye song.
The melody of the initial parts ended up a bit too repetitive for me. I really like how the song sounds from 0:45.
The song is completely unfinished past 1:27.

Toby Fox, Undertale/Deltarune Newsletter Autumn 2024

An unfinished version of My Castle Town, included in the Autumn 2024 newsletter. Toby originally wanted this track to sound very upbeat but it reminded him of "that one Gotye song". The melody of the initial parts were also noted to be too repetitive for Toby.

Queen Battle (Original)[]

I think this is my favorite of the unfinished tracks... At least, it's the one I listened to the most when I was working on the game.
Back when Queen looked more intimidating, I wanted to use this as her boss theme. Personally I still really like it, and I even wanted to try to use it for Berdly's battle instead... but the issue was that it just didn't match either of the theme melodies I had already created for those characters.
Bizarrely, I seem to have made this after already making her theme song, as an early version of her theme song is inside of the project file.
1:30 onward (piano only) is totally unfinished.

Toby Fox, Undertale/Deltarune Newsletter Autumn 2024

An unfinished track meant for Queen's boss theme, included in the Autumn 2024 newsletter. It was created after Toby finished Queen's theme song. Toby originally intended to use it back when Queen looked more intimidating, as well as for Berdly's boss battle. However, the track didn't match either of the theme melodies created for those characters.

Hometown Day, My Funky Town, and Green Room (Chapters 3+)[]

These tracks were posted on the Deltarune September 2022 Status Update. These are some of the tracks that will be used in Chapters 3, 4, and 5 of Deltarune.

sneaking[]

Earlier, we were considering having a stealth-focused section in the game where you would slowly, slowly sneak around certain areas.
After developing some concepts, we realized a mechanic which basically just makes you move slower isn't necessarily fun.
So, we didn't do that...

Toby Fox, Undertale/Deltarune Newsletter Autumn 2023

Fun Gang overworld sneaky

This track was included in the Autumn 2023 Undertale/Deltarune Newsletter. It was meant to play for a planned stealth-focused section in Chapter 3, but it was scrapped because it was determined that the section would not be fun.

Although its use of the Lost Girl motif may imply the section had relevance to Noelle or Dess Holiday, Toby Fox has noted that the motif may show up even when Noelle isn't there.[3]
