TV World is the Dark World located in Kris's House. It is the primary setting of Chapter 3.

Main Story[]

History[]

At the end of Chapter 2, Kris, Susie, and Toriel had fallen asleep in the Dreemurr family's television room. After waking up and tearing out their SOUL, Kris created a Dark Fountain in the room before returning to the couch and placing their SOUL back in their body. The room soon after turns dark with only the static screen of the TV remaining. The screen gains an ominous smile before leading into the next chapter.

According to Shuttah, the theatre in TV World was built some time after the world's creation. The world in which the theatre is built upon is a white desert described as a frozen waste made of purple cliffs and metal. From the way Shuttah describes it and how it is shown after the player's party exit the theatre, the surface of this Dark World was possibly created from the kitchen fridge. [1]

Some Darkeners did not enjoy the changes that came with the theatre's creation, and decided to leave.[1]

As established in Chapter 2, Darkeners present in this chapter also have memories to events and interactions prior to the Dark Fountain's creation. These include interactions they had with Lighteners as their Hometown counterparts as well as Darkeners from other Dark Worlds. Some of the NPCs in TV World are originally from locations of previous chapters, such as Pippins, and Ramb.

Chapter 3[]

The chapter begins in the Dark World, following the ending of Chapter 2. Susie is seen waking up on a couch, quickly nudging Kris with her foot to wake them up. They quickly roll off of the couch, beginning the introductory walking portion of the chapter. Ralsei soon appears, joining the party briefly before beginning an informative cut-scene about the Light and Dark Worlds.

  • You see, Susie. You and Kris live in the "Light World."
  • A place where everything is as you see.
  • That is… as long as there's light.
  • You see, when it gets dark...
  • Things become more indistinct.
  • A chair can look like a monster.
  • A poster can look like it’s moving.
  • Your eyes can’t see the truth anymore.
  • And when the light runs out…
  • You see nothing.
  • Of course, your mind can’t make anything of nothing.
  • But what if?
  • What if it became even darker?
  • Darker than dark.
  • What if we could take away the light that wasn’t there
  • Until we reached another side?
  • If that were to happen…
  • You could start to see things again.
  • And hear them.
  • And feel them.
  • That is the Dark World, Susie.
  • An alternate view of reality through the lens of shadow.
  • In other words…
  • … an illusion.
  • The Dark Fountains change everything into a fantasy.
  • In the Light World, in reality…
  • Lancer is just an average playing card.
  • Queen… is just a laptop.
  • In other words… when the lights come back on…
  • This world is no longer “real”.
  • The places you go, the people you meet… none of them are.
  • Even I, the one telling you this… I too, am… [Ralsei, to Susie]

Afterwards, Tenna abruptly interupts the party. jumps in and begins the board starting with your names. After you do both boards, you find a Zapper blocking a door saying "Tenna's orders". Susie calls this suspicious, and shortly after you battle the Zapper. Inside, multiple panels must be completed with either Susie or the OddController. Then you find Toriel before Tenna arrives.

Unlike all other chapters seen so far, Chapter 3 does not have a Light World section.
