Sound of Justice [1] , known as ??? in-game, is a statue of Gerson that became alive in the dark world and is found in the 2nd Sanctuary.
Main Story[]
After entering Susie's new dark world, Kris and Susie go to Gerson's study to try and find him. They see a silhouette of what looks like Gerson in the study, and will follow after him into the darkness. Lost in complete darkness, Susie falls and finds what she thinks is Gerson, who begins attacking her. After the first few turns, the statue swings at Susie, but Kris defends Susie with their shield and joins the battle.
After a set amount of turns, Susie fires some of her healing magic at "Gerson." The light from the magic reveals that the enemy is not Gerson at all, but a statue. Ralsei will then appear and destroy the enemy, then revealing that it was a statue from Gerson's study that came to life in the new dark world.
In Battle[]
Sound of Justice fights similarly to Gerson, utilizing the Green Soul mechanic. Sound of Justice provides audio cues of the direction that the arrows will come in, "Left," "Right," and "Up." During the fight, the visual cues of the arrows will disappear and the player will have to rely only on the audio cues to dodge the arrows. TP gain during the fight is restricted due to the darkness. Towards the end of the fight, the SOUL will turn back to red and have to dodge a hammer swing attack, much like the one in the Hammer of Justice boss fight.
Strategy[]
The fight is purely survival, as ACTs have no effect, and the Sound of Justice will simply dodge. However, if you somehow manage to get enough TP to cast BetterHeal before Susie decides to do it herself, you can end the fight early. It is recommended that you bring and equip your best armor before the fight. Like with the Mike fight, a quiet space is recommended as any background could obscure the sound cues. When only Susie is in the party, being downed results in skipping the entire Phase one, and instantly triggers the second Phase. Doing so revives Susie with only 1 HP, so its important to prepare healing items.
The battle is timed, and will always end with Ralsei destroying the statue after a certain amount of turns.
Trivia[]
- Prior to the fight, the game checks for deafness by playing sounds in the player's headphones and asking where the sounds came from and what they were. If the player answers incorrectly, the game will not remove any of the visual cues during the fight and the player won't have to rely on their hearing.
- If the player loses the battle repeatedly, visual cues will be activated even if the prior were answered correctly.
