Guei

Guei is a Darkner that appears in Deltarune's 4th Chapter.

Profile[]

Appearance[]

Guei appears to be a Thurible (Of censer) that burns incense. The Darkner appears to give off blue smoke or flames as a form of attack. It is completely white blue accents and blue claws. A black cross-like shape makes up ifs face, and it possesses a blue ruff around it's neck. The design of the enemy is roughly Asian, likely inspired by Japanese or Chinese art style, which fits both its name and the language characters it uses, that being Kanji.

Personality[]

Guei appears to be rather laid back, speaking in another language. It speaks in broken Mandarin, and appears to be somewhat playful through the ACT "Exercise" which indicates that it enjoys movement and play, likely referencing not only the act of Exorcism, an act in which a Demon is cast out through the power of Christ, but also referencing how this kind of censer tends to be swung back and forth during a Catholic Mass, thus explaining how this Darkner appears to function in the light world.

Guei's Light World object form appears to share a similar function to the object that makes up the Darkner Balthizard.

History[]

Guei appears in Chapter 4's Dark Worlds where it serves the role of a basic enemy. Prior to the opening and closing of the Dark Worlds within the Chruch, it served a purpose during Saturday services, which effects how it appears within the Darkworld. After the Dark Fountains are closed, it returns to its original object form.
