Trivia[]
- On the Spotify, Deezer, Amazon Music, and iTunes versions of the OST, there is a 47th track, Berdly (Rejected Concept), which is an early version of Berdly.
- The Fangamer vinyl also contains the 48th track, "Dance of Dog" extended to 2:03 on side D. The track comes from Undertale's Dog Check.
- In the Castle Town music shop, some tracks have different titles or are different tracks entirely:
- "My Castle Town" is written as "My Castle."
- "WELCOME TO THE CITY" is written as "Welcome To The City."
- "Cool Beat" is not the track from the OST, but instead a short loop that can be played in the Cyber Field music shop, which in turn is reused from UNDERTALE's MTT Resort bed.
- The honking cars outside the Library (internally
honksong) quote several Undertale themes, including "Your Best Friend", "Undyne", "Enemy Approaching", and "Metal Crusher". - "sans." is reused from Undertale.
- "You Can Always Come Home" and "Before The Story" are also present at the end of the Chapter 1 soundtrack.
- Most tracks are slowed down or distorted on the Snowgrave Route. This also occurs in the Genocide Route in Undertale. "WELCOME TO THE CITY", however, plays an altered arrangement instead.
- "Chill Jailbreak Alarm To Study And Relax To" is a reference to lo-fi hip hop music.
- "My Castle Town" was first revealed at the Undertale 5th anniversary concert, a year prior to Chapter 2's release.[2]
- The first 15 seconds of "It's Pronounced "Rules," along with the sound playing while Berdly descends from the sky in Queen's Mansion, was used as background music in a Twitter video by Toby Fox announcing the Undertale 6th anniversary livestream.[3]
- During battles in the Queen's Mansion, the track "Pandora Palace" continues to play instead of being replaced by "Rude Buster". This is similar on how the CORE area from Undertale plays its namesake's theme even during battles in that area, replacing "Enemy Approaching".
- "KEYGEN" is referential to the style of music composed for software key-generators, usually found in the warez scene among illegal software distributors.
- The OST version of "Deal Gone Wrong" is closer to the Snowgrave Route version of the track. It plays at 1.3x speed and pitch in the cutscene before fighting Spamton NEO in a normal route,[4] and at 1.8x speed when Spamton NEO activates his "Bluelight Specil" in the Snowgrave Route.[5]
- "Holiday Studio" is an arrangement of "Jingle Bells", originally composed by James Lord Pierpont.
- The title "A Real Boy!" is a reference to Pinocchio, which Spamton's design and ambitions allude to.
- The "Wow!" sound effects that can be heard in the background of "BIG SHOT" are a sound effect from the video game EarthBound. Origins of the original sample are unknown.
- The beginning of "Knock You Down!!" is similar to the beginning of Stronger Monsters from Undertale.
