The Black Shard is a weapon in Deltarune that can be obtained by "defeating" the Roaring Knight in Chapter 3. It can be equipped by Kris (and Noelle by modifying the game), and has +16AT. It can also deal significant damage against Dark-Type Enemies, such as the Titan and Titan Spawns.

Trivia[]
- As seen in the cutscene after defeating the Roaring Knight at the end of Chapter 3, it is a part of the Knight's sword that has broken off.
- In Noelle's house Asgore can be seen through a vent mentioning the black shard in a speech about a plan to bring his family back together possibly to someone suspiciously out of sight calling them “old friend” implying this could be Rudy.
- The Black Shard is an equippable weapon for Kris. It has a unique, triangular icon, instead of the usual sword icon.
- it has a unique "red slash" hit effect when it deals damage in combat.
- It is currently one of two items to have the same name in the Dark World and the Light World, the other being the Egg.
- The Black Shard does not gain its SlayDark effect until Chapter 4.
