Darkners

I think the reason that Ralsei is able to exist in other Dark Worlds without turning into a statue is because he secretly possesses the SOUL of a Lightner. And I think that with the power of a Lightner's SOUL, Darkners can become real in the Light World and not just objects. Think about it. Why else did Spamton want to take Kris's SOUL?

We don't actually know 100% that Ralsei IS a Darkner.

I have a DELTARUNE theory.

Every long term memory all darkners have ever had are fake. Why? Their darkner form cannot exist without the fountain. Without it, they're just objects in the light world.

That brings me to my theory.

Since that is true, the longest lasting memory for any darkner except Ralsei was the first few moments of being turned into a conscious person. If they even are conscious and not figments of reality. So, Lancer's statement of hoping to be awarded "Son of the Month” by his dad is fake, and he may not know it. Jevil says that a while ago, he was locked inside the cage he is in. If that is true, which it could be, it has to be very recent since in the prophecy it says that recently that fountain appeared.

Anyone else seriously bothered/disturbed by Ralsei's insistence that Darkners's sole purpose is to be subservient to Lightners?

Also, did anyone else notice that Ralsei is our only source of most any info on the Dark World and stuff?

People who are saying that ralsei shouldn't know where the abandoned classroom is. but if you recall you spent an entire day in the dark world to the EAST of the castle town.

ralsei can survive in the other dark worlds because of the same reasons other darkners can stay in castle tow because ralsei says that "the dark fountain in castle town is made of pure darkness" and ralsei also says that " darkners are made of the dark fountain from there home dark world" so that means that ralsei is made of pure darkness therefore he can survive in any dark world

There’s been a lot of deep discussion about the SOUL on this wiki as of late. Specifically, the Red SOUL. Originally, everyone was happy and content with the idea that we were the Red SOUL, but now nobody’s sure about the truth about anything. So, here’s my theory.

The SOUL and body aren’t the only parts of a complete being.

Let me explain. Many things said by characters imply that the SOUL isn’t just us. It is referred to like a container by Ralsei (“Within, it holds your WILL, your COMPASSION…”) and like a power by Spamton (“I JUST NEED THAT LITTLE S O U L YOU HAVE). But it’s never referred to as us. It’s referred to as ours. This means that either we are the body (nope) or we are something else. Thus, the Triple-Part Being Theory (in your face Descartes and the entire philosophical concept of dualism). The body is the physical center of a being, and how it affects everything around it. The consciousness is the being’s personality and identity, and its mental center. The SOUL is the go-between: it dwells in the physical world, but isn’t mental or physical. It’s the emotional center of the being, and the bridge from mind to body. And Determination is a force that is created by the mind’s attachment to the physical world, binding it to certain places in time and space. With enough Determination, a mind could theoretically control a body without a SOUL.

This theory solves most of the major problems, namely how the SOUL is Kris’s and ours: both our consciousnesses are inside one SOUL (or maybe more, if there really is a third entity inside Kris’s already over inhabited body). But what about Darkners? They seem to have no SOUL, but are still alive. Also, they have no Determination, as said by Queen. The answer: their consciousnesses are only in their Dark World form. The Dark World is a nonphysical place, which is why the Lightners “wake up” when the Dark Fountain vanishes. And Dark Fountains are like pathways between the physical and nonphysical, which makes sense because of the Determination. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Do you think that darkners are really supposed to serve lightners? It seems a bit suspicious to me. There's definitely a connection between the two, but subservience seems a tad... hmm.

Flowey is a Darkner.

Now, before you throw my in some kind of mental institution, hear me out.

I was thinking about this earlier. Alphys's entries in the True Lab about making Flowey have this statement, "What happens when a being with no SOUL gains the will to live?" River Person also implies that Flowey is neither a monster, nor a human. What, then, could Flowey possibly be? After all, we only have one example of his species.

Or do we?

See, Flowey came to life when he was filled with DETERMINATION. Now, I asked myself, where else have we seen inanimate objects come to life by the power of DETERMINATION?

When a Dark Fountain is created, as Queen states, it is created with the power of DETERMINATION. Then, the inanimate objects (Jack of Spades, Rules Card) come to life, but they are neither monster, nor human. They are Darkners.

Therefore, I believe that Flowey is a self-sustained version of a Darkner. This could actually explain a lot about him, like his knowlege of game mechanics, like HP, LV, SAVEing, etc. Many other Darkners are aware of these (Ralsei, Susie Master, Spamton), but the Lighters seem oblivious (Susie is very confused when Ralsei mentions pressing [Z]). I think the only other monster to be aware of these things is Sans, but he's a special case.

Some of y'all probably know what WDTAB is, so I kinda did a thing if the Deltarune characters sang it, or if they had the roles of the WDTAB singers.

According to the article "DELTARUNE CHAPTER 1 OST", Kris can bring the darnkers (cards, toys, etc.) from the unused classroom to Castle Town. I just think that Kris and Susie's sizes shrink when they enter the Dark World.

Since Darkners take on the appearence on whatever place a fountain is created in (I think so), and a dark fountain is placed in Kris's home, how do you think the Darkners would look like: snails? books? pies? Maybe the area in general as something comforting, a gold like color, and soft-vibes?

1.) ralsei is asriel

honestly dont really believe this one. first off, its known that asriel is currently at university. it would be pretty hard to fake going to uni lol. also if it was accidental that he went to the dark world, he would leave, right? its not like he had a bad life or anything, why would he want to leave his family and stay in the dark world where things obviously arent going great.

second, wouldnt kris recognize him? hes literally their brother. susie, noelle, and berdly wouldve recognized him too.

third, WHY WOULD IT BE HINTED AT THAT RALSEI HAS A CRUSH ON YOU IF HE WAS KRIS’ BROTHER?? ralsei would recognize kris if he was asriel and know they are his sibling.

im gonna safely debunk this theory for now.

2.) ralsei isnt asriel but is a lightner

this one i mostly believe in. why is it that ralsei doesnt turn to stone like the rest of the darkners when they arrive in a new dark world? how did he get to cyber world in the first place? i mean card kingdom and cyber world arent connected in any way besides their entrances being in the same town in the overworld. either hes a lightener or were missing some plot details thatll be revealed later

my personal favorite and the one i believe in most. get ready folks this ones gonna be long

this theory isnt as well known as the others, so ill try to be simple with my explanation. talking to toriel postgame in chapter 1 reveals that kris owned a red headband with horns on it, and that kris lost it one day and theyd never seen it again.

sound familiar? heres where the theory part comes in. somehow, someway, that red headband ended up in the dark world and turned into ralsei. assuming ralsei is the same species as the dreemurrs, hes the only one with reddish horns, so it cant be a species thing (unless they are different species, which is unlikely. theyre both goats) and why was it so suddenly lost? toriels house is not very large, and her and kris seem to keep the place clean, surely if it meant that much to kris they wouldve found it already.

one thing that may potentially debunk this theory is items you take with you to the dark world stay items. kris’ pencil turns into a wooden sword with a carbon (graphite) center. HOWEVER, darkners turn into items when taken OUT of the dark world, so perhaps ralsei is the headband, but he isnt a lightener. makes you think………..
