I think maybe Ralsei's object form in the Light World was one of Asriel's old belongings (a jacket, hat, etc.) and that's why Ralsei looks just like Asriel.

1. In Undertale, Flowey always spoke in a manner similar to a cowboy, such as saying "howdy" when he greets Frisk.
2. In Toy Story 2, Woody has a nightmare where he falls in a trash can. This also applies to a scrapped scene from the first movie.
3. Because of how Dark Worlds work, being thrown in the trash in the Light World could equate to your show being cancelled in the Dark World.
4. At one point in Undertale, Flowey refers to his Friendliness Pellets as bullets.
5. This is a bit of a stretch, but... https://thefloralcoach.com/2023/02/16/my-top-tips-for-working-with-woody-stems/#:~:text=%E2%80%9CWoody%20stems%E2%80%9D%20are%20flowers%20and,their%20flowering%20and%20fruiting%20stages!
6. The Dark World is inside the Dreemurr house, so it would make a lot of sense for the secret boss to be a reference to both the family's western speech mannerisms and their heavy association with flowers.

All of the hidden bosses will be based on forms of childish entertainment. Jevil was based on carnivals or goofy humor and Spamton NEO was based on puppetry and puppet shows.
If this follows, the secret boss for the next chapter will likely be some sort of childhood toy, such as the fanmade boss Lumia being an old camera. I'm thinking it will also be somewhat connected to Asriel, such as @WhatAreTheChances? theory about the boss being the knockoff controller.
If we can assume that Kris is the knight, these forms of entertainment are likely connected to Asriel returning, possibly realizing that they are growing older, and wanting to go back to their childhood where they didn't have the weight of responsibilities or being possessed by another soul to deal with
Asriel's clearly a smart teen, given his side of the room, with all the trophies and the fact he was making a videogame (assuming he did at least SOME coding).
I think Asriel built the knock-off controller, so he could play it with Kris (probably giving the real controller to them because he's such a brother), and he built it based on what he knew about the real controller.
Okay, so I was just laying on my floor thinking about life while listening to Big Shot and I came up with some crazy thoughts.
What if Asriel was killed on his way home and due to that Kris was given the idea to make a game (undertale) in remembrance of him.
OR
Asriel is killed/lost/trapped in the dark world trying to save whatever it is they are trying to save.
Idk just a bunch of random thoughts I had to share. Not really theory’s
Have fun with theses thoughts of mine
Ralsei is Asriel
That’s why he is so nervous around Kris!
And also why he looks EXACTLY LIKE ASRIEL
And why he’s a spell caster!
Although, I might be wrong even I’m not sure about this Theory so don’t diss me on this…
Flowey is a Darkner.
Now, before you throw my in some kind of mental institution, hear me out.
I was thinking about this earlier. Alphys's entries in the True Lab about making Flowey have this statement, "What happens when a being with no SOUL gains the will to live?" River Person also implies that Flowey is neither a monster, nor a human. What, then, could Flowey possibly be? After all, we only have one example of his species.
Or do we?
See, Flowey came to life when he was filled with DETERMINATION. Now, I asked myself, where else have we seen inanimate objects come to life by the power of DETERMINATION?
When a Dark Fountain is created, as Queen states, it is created with the power of DETERMINATION. Then, the inanimate objects (Jack of Spades, Rules Card) come to life, but they are neither monster, nor human. They are Darkners.
Therefore, I believe that Flowey is a self-sustained version of a Darkner. This could actually explain a lot about him, like his knowlege of game mechanics, like HP, LV, SAVEing, etc. Many other Darkners are aware of these (Ralsei, Susie Master, Spamton), but the Lighters seem oblivious (Susie is very confused when Ralsei mentions pressing [Z]). I think the only other monster to be aware of these things is Sans, but he's a special case.
I think there may be a little bit more to Ralsei than what the game lets on. I mean, the fact that he's a Boss Monster and that his name is an anagram of "Asriel" leads me to believe he may be somehow related to or even is the Asriel from Undertale. The last time Asriel is seen (the credits may or may not count as canon or even after the credits) in the Pacifist Route, he's in the ruins near the flowerbed the protagonist fell on at the beginning of the game. After the player speaks with him for a few times he says, "Frisk... Don't you have anything better to do?" and doesn't appear anywhere else after that (again, I don't think the credits or after them count). I think after the player left, he didn't want to be a flower again, so he may have taken the soul of another monster when the main cast left the Underground to stay in his true form. He may have even taken more souls, probably gaining the ability to teleport though different dimensions and timelines (probably the soul of a Madjick) and may have stumbled on the dimension of Deltarune by accident. This may have been so much for the soul that allowed him to teleport that it faded out of existence, leaving only the soul that allowed him to remain as a Boss Monster. After that, I think he may have hidden in the school closet. Since he didn't have any horns in Undertale, this leads me to believe that he may have grown since he arrived in Hometown. It is unknown how he may have opened the first fountain, but it's obvious that it wasn't the Knight (probably Kris) that opened the fountain. I also don't think anyone has opened the closet since he arrived, or even ever. But that's just my take on Ralsei's origin. I hope that when the new chapter's come out, they might be able to solidify my theory.
So originally this post was going to be a lot longer, but the first draft got deleted due to a save error when I tried to fix a grammar mistake. So I will keep this shorter. I've been wanting to post this theory for some time because I have yet to see anyone else suspect this character as being the Knight even though there are hints and it makes the most sense storywise.
To dive right in, I suspect the Knight is going to be December. Noelle's older sister who typically goes by the nickname Dess. So why do I think this?
We learn in chapter 2 that baseball is apparently an interest of Dess's. Baseballs appear somewhat randomly in both chapters. In chapter 1 we have Clover's room where both baseballs and Christmas trees appear. In chapter 2, we have a baseball moon, and one of Queen's GIGA attacks is throwing a baseball, as is her final attack.
I have since chapter 1 theorized that the Legend is based on a game created by Asriel which he made up with Kris and Dess years prior. Dess would have been the monster hero which Susie is now filling the role of. When Susie joins your party for real, her status becomes LV1 Dark Knight. This would imply that Dess's character was also, and may still be, a Knight. This theory also explains Ralsei partially, with him being [[Hyperlink Blocked]] with the power to shapeshift, and he is copying the appearance of the character Asriel made up for himself. The Knight, or Dess, is using the dark fountains to bring this old game to life. I believe one night they invited Noelle to play the Angel, and the session led to Dess becoming trapped within "The Dark".
This event, or perhaps a meeting with the [[Redacted]] gave her player-like abilities where she can possess certain Lightners temporarily. These Lightners as of now being Kris and Noelle. When Kris removes their SOUL, this is Dess taking over to further push their goals as the Knight. I suspect Noelle had an unknown hand in the creation of the first 2 fountains as she directly causes Kris and Susie to enter both dark worlds.
Dess's main goal as the Knight seems to be protecting and encouraging Noelle, the Angel, and strengthen her so they can create a new world. Possibly to save both Dess and their dad. The first mention of Dess in the game involves an angel doll the two sisters made in youth group. Foreshadowing. Dess may also be trying to take control of someone else's body until they can reach their goal.
Other tidbits of irony include:
Dess creating the Cyber World for Noelle. Noelle comments that Dess talked about taking her somewhere similar one day.
Queen replacing the Knight with Noelle mirrors the Mayor replacing Dess with Noelle after the elder sister's disappearance.
Susie both replaced Dess's role as the monster hero, and as Noelle's protector.
If Noelle is the Angel, Dess is the perfect Knight to protect her.
The lyrics of "Don't Forget" could be Dess singing to Noelle to comfort her when they were in the woods.
"When the light is running low, and the shadows start to grow.
And the places that you know seem like fantasy.
There's a light inside your soul that's still shining through the cold
With the truth, the promise in our hearts.
Don't forget, I'm with you in the dark."
What if IT TAKES PLACE AFTER UNDERTALE THATS WHY KRIS LOOKS LIKE FRISK BECAUSE THEY ARE THE SON/DAUTHER OF THE AMBASATOR FRISK AND ASRIEL ESCAPE THE UNDERGROUND AND IT TURNS INTO THE DARK WORRLD BUIJOGFVYHJFVOTUGF68YI HOPE YOU LIKE IT
1.) ralsei is asriel
honestly dont really believe this one. first off, its known that asriel is currently at university. it would be pretty hard to fake going to uni lol. also if it was accidental that he went to the dark world, he would leave, right? its not like he had a bad life or anything, why would he want to leave his family and stay in the dark world where things obviously arent going great.
second, wouldnt kris recognize him? hes literally their brother. susie, noelle, and berdly wouldve recognized him too.
third, WHY WOULD IT BE HINTED AT THAT RALSEI HAS A CRUSH ON YOU IF HE WAS KRIS’ BROTHER?? ralsei would recognize kris if he was asriel and know they are his sibling.
im gonna safely debunk this theory for now.
2.) ralsei isnt asriel but is a lightner
this one i mostly believe in. why is it that ralsei doesnt turn to stone like the rest of the darkners when they arrive in a new dark world? how did he get to cyber world in the first place? i mean card kingdom and cyber world arent connected in any way besides their entrances being in the same town in the overworld. either hes a lightener or were missing some plot details thatll be revealed later
3.) ralsei is evil
shut up hes baby
4.) ralsei is kris' red headband they lost
my personal favorite and the one i believe in most. get ready folks this ones gonna be long
this theory isnt as well known as the others, so ill try to be simple with my explanation. talking to toriel postgame in chapter 1 reveals that kris owned a red headband with horns on it, and that kris lost it one day and theyd never seen it again.
sound familiar? heres where the theory part comes in. somehow, someway, that red headband ended up in the dark world and turned into ralsei. assuming ralsei is the same species as the dreemurrs, hes the only one with reddish horns, so it cant be a species thing (unless they are different species, which is unlikely. theyre both goats) and why was it so suddenly lost? toriels house is not very large, and her and kris seem to keep the place clean, surely if it meant that much to kris they wouldve found it already.
one thing that may potentially debunk this theory is items you take with you to the dark world stay items. kris’ pencil turns into a wooden sword with a carbon (graphite) center. HOWEVER, darkners turn into items when taken OUT of the dark world, so perhaps ralsei is the headband, but he isnt a lightener. makes you think………..
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
alright post over. lemme know what you guys think in the comments, im very interested to hear you guys’ thoughts on some of these OR if you have a theory of your own, let me know about that too. thanks for reading this whole thing <3
So basically I had a few thoughts and I wanna know what you guys think.
As we know, Kris' older brother is Asriel in deltarune (or younger, I forgot) and he is currently away in the story.
According to Ralsei and from what we see, Darkners turn to stone after a while in a different fountain, but Ralsei doesn't despite the fact he is a Darkner from a different place.
Lightners will not turn to stone in a different dark fountain however.
Ralsei also displays different characteristics compared to other darkners, like he can just move between fountains (how tf does he do that), but we had to carry Lancer in our items. This could just be brought down to Ralsei just having main character privileges.
Along with the fact Ralsei in chapter 1 didn't want to show his face to Kris and Susie for most of the part and that Ralsei has a very similar appearance to Asriel leads me to believe Asriel has just gone to the dark world to escape his problems (a possible problem could be his parents divorce)
There are a few things which go against this theory, but I wanna know what other people think of this.
When getting noelle to equip any of the individual ribbons she says something along the lines od "feels familiar..." and when you try to get her to equip the twin ribbons she says "nostalgic huh?" so maybe the ribbons belonged to dess and she lost them in the dark worlds when adventuring and since its implied something happened to her maybe shes lost in a dark world we havent seen before or she just strait up died in one of the worlds, if she did come to the dark worlds and lost her ribbons, maybe she went with asriel and thats why theres an asriel room in the queens mansion and maybe ralsei is something asriel left behind or something along those lines. maybe noelle just likes ribbons...
I don't actually fully believe this, I'm just making up a theory, but hear me out, it's interesting to think about:
Explanation: Since in Deltarune Asriel is off to college or something, I believe he actually stumbled across something similar to the closet to the Dark World there, and forgot about his previous identity. Since you never see him in-game, he could have changed since the events of Undertale (and, yes, I am aware that Deltarune is an AU and not canon to Undertale).
Proof:
-Ralsei is an anagram of Asriel, and they look very similar.
-In Undertale, Asriel is about elementary school age, and has stub horns. In Deltarune, Ralsei has longer horns, and if my theory is correct, is college age, so the time checks out.
-Ralsei claims to be a "Prince of the Dark", but if he were a prince, wouldn't he be (Chaos) King's son? There's no mention of any other king/kingdom besides the one we fight/the kingdom he rules. BUT, in Undertale, Asriel IS a prince, and since the Underground is generally dark, he could be the prince of the Underground (Asriel), not the prince of the Dark World.
Opposing Points:
-All Darkners have colored talk sprites, and Lightners like Kris and Susie have black and white like their fellow Lightners in Undertale. However, Ralsei also has a colored sprite, implying he is a Darkner.
-He seems to have lived in the Dark World for a long time, and if he was really Asriel, wouldn't he recognize Kris? To be fair, the strange skin color change might throw him off. Plus, even though time is a bit longer in the Dark World than in the overworld/Hometown, if he were gone for long enough to lose his memory of his former self, his parents and the school would definitely know something's not right.
Feel free to list any other proof/oppositions!
So, to begin things, Toby stated that Undertale is 'unrelated' to Deltarune.
Unrelated is an anagram to both these words, but that is likely to be a coincidence.
But looking at the beginning of Deltarune and those words Susie told you- and the genocide ending, we get this:
Undertale Genocide Ending: "Since when were you the one in control?"
Deltarune Beginning and Susie: "Your choices don't matter"
Also, Deltarune, in many ways, is the polar opposite of Undertale:
Lets compare Asgore and the king, Asriel and Lancer.
Asgore is kind hearted, The king is evil and sadistic.
Asriel starts out kind hearted, but then is turned into an evil maniac. Lancer has the same happen in reverse.
This could, in theory, mean that Lancer will return to being an antagonist, similar to Flowey turning back into Asriel.
Also, note that Ralsei and Asriel are the exact same character, with a few differences.
What I'm seeing here, is that Kris, having turn villainous, will be joined by Ralsei, who will soon get corrupted. Meanwhile, Lancer and Susie turn to Kris' team, turning the protagonists into the antagonists-
That being said, there is not .much more I can estimate about Chapter 2. But I have a feeling that Noelle will be the new protagonist- she would come over to visit Kris, only to find her soul in a birdcage and said person nowhere to be found. Devastated, she would absorb the soul and begin searching for Kris... but it doesn't end there-
The town looks like a disaster has befallen it- dust and chaos everywhere... it is up to you to find Kris and stop them, but, they are nowhere to be found. At least, until you end up in the next dark world- on a search for Kris and Susie, who was later discovered missing.
From what I am thinking here- we won't be seeing Kris, Susie and the others until the final chapter. . .
(Yes I know most of the stuff I wrote is just fancy guessing, but honestly, it's really hard to estimate what the next chapter will be with what little we have)
Also, let me explain how Undertale is related to Deltarune.
Interestingly enough, the True Pacifist and the neutral endings are unrelated to Deltarune. The true pacifist is the true ending- the true Undertale.
However, Genocide is not the true ending of genocide... Toby punishes you for doing Genocide... you could say Genocide isn't truly a part of Undertale.
That I think explains how Deltarune is so similar to the genocide ending of Undertale... because the Genocide ending isn't Undertale.
I believe it represents the divorce in the Dreemurr family. Sounds weird I know, but hear me out.
There are only two other places in the game where eggs are mentioned. The first is Temmie’s ‘partner’. The second is when Toriel talks about when Asgore painted some eggs to look like Yoshi’s for Asriel’s birthday, only to cook them the next day, sending Asriel into hysterics. The following argument between Asgore and Toriel probably wouldn’t have been the single thing that tore them apart, but it might have been the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Another fact worth mentioning is that it is the only item to be in the inventory of both worlds. The Dark World is a fantasy realm that Kris and Asriel created as children (brought to life by Gaster probably), but as Kris has gotten older, the reality of family problems is ruining the happy childhood memories; the rest of it is just a ball of junk.
Dropping the egg results in the text “What egg?”. This could represent Toriel or Asgore pretending to the kids that there are no problems between them. It could also be Kris’ denial of any trauma caused by the divorce, or more likely, Kris deciding that what happened is someone else’s fault
Finally, the egg will end up in Asgore’s fridge whether you put it there yourself or attempt to throw it away. By not accepting the burden as Kris’ own, it ultimate falls back into Asgore’s possession, since all of this is technically his fault for cooking that egg.
